This little burner is a wonderful alternative for anyone who loves the scent of loose incense but doesn't want the smoke and black mess from charcoal.
 
If you love burning loose incense, you know there are limited ways to burn it. Usually, you need a cast iron or similar burner, and indoor charcoal. You light the charcoal and put the incense on the little charcoal piece. It works well, but it can product a lot of smoke. AND... the charcoal does have a smell of its own too.
 
This is a lovely alternative for those who love burning loose incense they make themselves or buy, and just want the clean, pure smell without the charcoal.
 
Solid brass burner has a removable screen. You place the screen into the well, light a tea light under it, then place a pinch of incense onto the screen. You won't need much! The first time I used this, I put a pile onto the screen and my whole house smelled! I was even surprised it worked as well as it does.
 
We have added to this little burner too. Mars found that if he cut the top and bottom off a small jar and files the edges, we could make a small chimney for this burner. This does a couple of things: first, it protects the tea lite from air movement such as fans or air conditioners, second it keeps any sparks or mess from the candle contained and the flame contained behind the glass.
 
The little well has a screw you can use to raise or lower the well to adjust how close it it to the candle flame. You may find specific incense does better closer or further away. You want a nice, steady burn, with a trickle of smoke. not to fry the incense too fast as that may smell like burning more than like the incense.
 
This burner is intended as a resin burner, but we didn't like it for that purpose because the resin tends to melt and drip and put the candle out.
 
Comes with 2 additional replacement screens and the glass chimney piece.
 
Please never leave any burning items unattended and keep away from children and pets! This burner can get extremely hot so I advise putting it on a tile to protect furniture.
