Yule is also known as the Winter Solstice. Yule is a sacred holiday in the Witch's year. Also called the Winter Solstice.
The solstice is the darkest day of the year. It is the shortest day with the longest night. Yule is a time to look forward to the renewal of the light and longer days ahead.
Performing a ritual on or near the Winter Solstice is a lovely way to focus on looking forward to brighter days ahead. Focus on renewal and starting over. Focus on new beginnings.
The winter Solstice, called Yule by many pagans, is a festival of light. This time is one where we approach the darkest day of the year so light is a primary focus. In the Northern hemisphere, Yule typically comes around the 21st of December. This year (2022), it is on the 21st of December.
