Witches Burr is actually the seed pod from the Sweet Gum tree. A native of the Southern United States, this wonderful tree drops these spiky pods each Autumn.
 
These make wonderful items to add to protection jars. They are sometimes used in cuse work too, due to the sharp needle-like appearance. I use them in protection spells and jars and they are a wonderful addition.
 
Sometimes hung on doorways or simply placed on the altar for protection.
